About

LX News Ltd was formed in August 2007 by Liverpool-based entrepreneur, Francisco Esteves. After spotting a gap in the student print media market in Liverpool, he set about creating a single newspaper for all Liverpool students. The result was LX News, Liverpool’s only student newspaper.

LX News’ first issue came out in November 2007 and since then it has come a long way. The print run has increased from 5,000 to 10,000 copies and it is now distributed to 150 points across the city, including exclusively to John Moores Student Union and all student halls.

In April 2008, LX News Ltd launched its own desktop news ticker, in partnership with MioPlanet Technologies. Based on the success of the BBC News Ticker, LX News became the first student newspaper in the UK to commission and launch a student-focused desktop news ticker, making it easier for its readers to keep up-to-date with the latest news.

By continuously looking forward and with a bit of entrepreneurial spirit, we are proud to be able to offer our services to the students of Liverpool.
